Come and get away from it all in the stunning West Kootenays. Relax on a private 15 acre retreat situated on a mountainside just off of Highway 3A & 6. Part of the breathtaking Selkirk Loop but secluded enough to take you away from it all, The Woods is an ideal place for you and your family to kick back and unwind while having easy access to the eclectic town of Nelson.

We are grateful that The Woods is privately positioned with no neighbours in sight, but you can hear the sounds of hummingbirds in your backyard and catch an occasional glimpse of roaming elk, deer and even turkeys. A stunning walk through the forest takes you to a secluded beach on the shores of Kootenay Lake. It's simply breathtaking.

Looking for a break from the office? Venture to The Woods to work remotely and take a reprieve from the daily grind. This property offers peace and tranquility.

In the summer you can enjoy a swim in the lake, or float your inner tube down the Slocan River. For those more adventurous there's kayaking, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, ziplining, and more... just outside your door. In the fall you have your choice of rivers to drop in a fly and enjoy the flyfishing that British Columbia is famous for. In the winter, limitless pow at Whitewater Ski Resort awaits you only 20 minutes away. Less than one hour away is one of Canada's largest skiable area resort called Red Mountain. An abundance in alternative backcountry options, plus Heli-skiing and Cat-skiing are all also locally available. There are multiple nordic ski trails to choose from and endless trails for snowshoeing. Hit the slopes for a day skiing and then return back for a soak in the outdoor hot tub.

Thankfully, we are just minutes away from the historic town of Nelson. Nelson boasts a world-renowned local community culture, great shopping, museums, coffee shops, galleries and a plethora of locally-owned restaurants.

The Woods is a wonderful place to escape and get in touch with nature while having access to this bustling mountain town!
Our Story
We’re an eclectic group of friends who met through a shared love of adventure, snow, and community. For the past five years, we’ve been experimenting with co-living and remote working — blending independence with connection, solitude with shared meals, and nature with creativity.

This property marks our first major milestone together — a place we hope to share with others that can reflect the values we’ve lived by: balance, belonging, and connection with nature. Nestled within the infamous Kootenays, The Woods is a space where stories can be shared, ideas flow, and the mountains are never far from view.

Whether you’re here to unplug, co-create, or carve fresh lines, we hope you feel the same sense of wonder and warmth that drew us to this magical piece of land in the first place.
